Does the A stand for “Asshats”?
This is the first casualty of those Peaceful Protests(r) I’ve seen run across the insurance auction sites. Probably not the last.

I feel like I’m missing part of the story here....

Insurance auction Volvo out of San Francisco-- post Peaceful Protests.

In this case, I think the “A” stands for “Avoid”

Oh. Sorry, I was thinking there was a protest at t he auction location for some reason. I’m dumb.

Yeah, it’s a tough one. The Sale Legend just says “Vandalism”, but these Antifa Fux seem lazy enough that they probably only did cosmetic damage— and almost certainly didn’t get under the hood nor into the interior.
so, it could be a quick re-spray and you’ve got a great Volvo good for another 25oK miles.
Or it could be “ A void A t A ll Costs”

*doodling?
as dawlding may lead to doodling, but isnt necessarily doodling

Nah, I’m obviously inferring a bit. The Auction Info Field is limited... but given the timing, the location and the *ahem* colourful epithets... I’m drawing the conclusion this was riot damaged out of the SF, SJC or Oakland conflagrations.

Yeah, I was dawdling on the auction sites this morning. Some Antifa d=bag did the “doodling”.

Did they total it out just because of the spray paint or was there other damage as well?
![]() 10/16/2020 at 11:32 |

Yes, nothing says fascism and wealth disparity like a 15 year old Volvo made by Ford.
![]() 10/16/2020 at 11:41 |

That will l iterally buff right out.
Then it'll break anyway.

I can’t look at a picture like this without almost feeling how bad my fist would hurt after I used it to cave in the jaw of the person that decided to do this to one of my vehicles.

*sprays paint* ANARCHY!!!!
Meanwhile they just did this volvo owner a solid.
If I still had my Kia and lived in Portland, I would have slapped on a trump bumper sticker and parked that fucker right in the middle of downtown.

I wouldn’t say either Ford or Sweden took a particularly firm stance against fascism.

Yeah, and you just don’t know... some struggling student’s car, bought by the parents because of “safe”? ... an under=employed mom-of-three trying look after her children with a family-oriented Volvo?
It certainly doesn’t say “1%er” or “obnoxious wealth on display”. But I’m kinda concluding these folks have no agenda nor sense.

Oo
h, that’s the V8 too.
If the only damage was the spray paint and was nearby
, I’d seriously consider
picking
it up.

Heh. “Support Your Local Police” bumper sticker. “Pence 2024!”
![]() 10/16/2020 at 12:16 |

pretty senseless.

The listing is limited info... it also said “Runs and Drives” and “mechanical damage”, but that could just be a chip on the bumper or valve stem cut.
The pics from all angles looked good.

That’s how I found it-- I’m lusting for the Yamaha V8.

You’ve got a point there

Can confirm: you do not want an aging XC90 if you have an easy out. My mom’s probably has well over double its worth in repairs over the last few years.

Yeah, “that damn bearing” and “transmission goofball crap galore...”

Agreed.

Chris Fix repaired a vandalized Chrysler 200 over the summer, I was surprised by how well the spray paint came off without damaging the finish underneath, considering how tough that stuff is to get off of stone and brick.

Hmmmmm....

And this one is a V8 too. Yeah I’ll pass on this one.

It's not insurance fraud, it's just high risk parking

Over the past couple years my coworker has probably dumped at least 6 grand into his 2k(being generous) s60r with a couple lost weeks of vacation due to problems. When he said he said he dropped 800 on tires it was like you have to be kidding me.

Flat tire could total these things

Does not surprise me in the least. My mom’s base FWD XC90 has the less problematic turbo 5 and it still is on its second engine and that engine on its second turbo just while being in the car. It’s also on its second front subframe but that was a freak impact with a curb that claimed that one. Not really the car’s fault. I reckon the front end has been entirely disassembled at least three times by now. Good thing we have a great Volvo specialist nearby.
And after all that money, what do you get? Ford build quality and a comfortable interior with incredibly terrible driving dynamics.
